European Context and Relevance

The Erasmus+ project STEP – Stage Training for Empowerment and Presence (KA152-YOU) is a youth mobility initiative designed to strengthen the self-confidence, public speaking, and creative expression of young people through non-formal methods and intercultural collaboration. In a time when young people face challenges related to anxiety, social insecurity, and limited access to international opportunities, STEP responds with an artistic, inclusive, and empowering approach.

The project supports the core European values of diversity, active citizenship, and non-formal education, creating a space for young people to build personal and social competences while engaging in meaningful cultural exchange.

Objectives and Goals

The main goals of the STEP project are to:

  • Empower young people by developing their self-confidence and public performance skills.

  • Promote intercultural awareness and tolerance through international youth exchange.

  • Encourage active citizenship and engagement in local communities.

  • Strengthen teamwork, communication, and social skills.

  • Stimulate creative expression through theater, improvisation, and stage performance.

  • Build a transnational network of young people for future collaboration.

  • Raise awareness of the value and visibility of non-formal education.

Target Group

  • Young people aged 18–25 from six different countries, including those with fewer opportunities (from rural areas, unemployed, or with limited access to international experiences).

  • Youth group leaders from each partner organization, responsible for supporting participants and ensuring quality implementation.

Planned Activities

  • Online Preparatory Meetings: Coordination meetings between partner organizations to define roles, expectations, and logistics.

  • Youth Exchange – “Public Speaking and Creative Expression”: A 6-day mobility involving 24 young participants and 6 group leaders, focused on developing stage presence, confidence, and creativity.

  • Creative Workshops and Final Performance: Participants will co-create a theatrical performance to be presented to the local community, combining elements of acting, improvisation, and stage design.

  • Local Mini-Projects: After the exchange, participants will organize local workshops and presentations to share acquired skills with their peers and communities.

Expected Results

  • Increased self-confidence and public speaking skills among young participants.

  • Improved social and communication competences.

  • Greater intercultural understanding and acceptance of diversity.

  • Enhanced civic engagement and initiative at the local level.

  • Formation of an international youth network for future cooperation.

  • Formal recognition of competences through Youthpass certificates.
