The “Now Fashion: Zero Waste” project is an Erasmus+ initiative aimed at fostering awareness and practices related to sustainable fashion among future educators across Europe. The project is designed to provide future educators with the skills and knowledge to promote eco-conscious behavior and sustainable practices within the fashion industry, thus contributing to environmental conservation and responsible consumption.

European Context and Relevance

Addressing the need for sustainable practices in the fashion sector, the project tackles issues arising from fast fashion, such as resource depletion and waste. Through a curriculum that emphasizes sustainable practices, recycling, and waste management, the project seeks to equip the next generation of educators with tools to influence future societal behavior positively.

Objectives and Goals

The project’s key goals include:

  • Developing a comprehensive Sustainable Fashion and Clothing Waste Module for future educators
  • Raising awareness of sustainable fashion and waste management among educators.
  • Enhancing young people’s skills in waste management, promoting recycling, and reducing environmental footprints.

Target Group

This project primarily focuses on:
  • Faculty of Education students, with 120 students receiving in-depth training in sustainable fashion.
  • Trainers across partner organizations who will implement the educational content.
  • Key stakeholders participating in dissemination events to amplify the project’s reach and impact.

Detailed Activities

The project comprises four main Work Packages (WPs):

  • WP1 – Project Management, Dissemination, and Meetings: Ensuring smooth project coordination and communication.
  • WP2 – Development of the Educational Module: Creating the sustainable fashion and waste management module, designed for easy integration into educational settings.
  • WP3 – Teacher Training and Initial Implementation: Organizing initial training for teachers on delivering the module.
  • WP4 – Local Implementation and Data Collection: Conducting pilot testing to evaluate the module’s impact on students’ sustainability awareness.
  • WP5 – Evaluation and Finalization: Assessing data to refine the module and ensure its effectiveness.

Expected Results

The project aims to:

  • Instill sustainable practices in young individuals and future educators.
  • Create a lasting impact within educational systems by integrating sustainability into curricula.
  • Broaden societal awareness about sustainable fashion and responsible consumption.

With a timeline from September 2024 to February 2026, this project is funded under the Erasmus+ program.
