NatureHeal:
Empowering Women’s Workforce Reintegration through Biophilic Learning

NatureHeal is an Erasmus+ KA210-ADU project dedicated to supporting women who are recovering from cancer and preparing to return to the labour market. Many face emotional, cognitive, and social challenges—reduced concentration, fatigue, lack of confidence, and workplace stigma. NatureHeal introduces biophilic learning, an approach rooted in connection with nature, designed to strengthen resilience, emotional balance, and readiness for professional reintegration.

What Does the Project Focus On?

The project develops supportive methods that combine nature-based activities, experiential approaches, and non-formal education. NatureHeal aims to help women rebuild confidence, restore emotional stability, and strengthen soft skills that are crucial for re-entering the workforce.

Key project components include:

  • developing a biophilic learning framework for adult education

  • creating practical materials and a user-friendly guide for educators

  • training sessions for staff within partner organisations

  • pilot activities with women recovering from cancer

  • international meetings and a final event to disseminate results

All methods are carefully adapted to different stages of recovery and individual needs.

Creative Station’s Contribution

Creative Station plays a central role in developing and shaping the project’s educational approach. Our contribution includes:

  • designing and co-creating training content and instructional materials

  • preparing methodology chapters within the project guide

  • supporting pilot activities through mentoring and facilitation

  • evaluating outcomes and adjusting methods to ensure their relevance

  • involving local educators and women participating in reintegration programmes

Through these activities, Creative Station strengthens its role in inclusive adult education and the development of innovative, nature-based learning methods.

Why NatureHeal Matters?

The project focuses on primary school teachers and students aged 8-12 years old.

Women recovering from cancer often face a unique mix of challenges:

  • reduced confidence and emotional vulnerability

  • fatigue and cognitive difficulties

  • fear of returning to demanding work environments

  • stigma and misunderstanding at the workplace

Biophilic learning offers a gentle, accessible, and effective pathway to rebuild resilience. Nature becomes a supportive learning space that nurtures focus, grounding, interpersonal connections, and a renewed sense of inner strength — all essential for a successful return to work.
